Episode two of Vivek Goel's COVID-19 podcast: How will this end?
After just a few weeks of social distancing, we all long for the day we can return to our usual routines – go to a movie or a restaurant, play a game of basketball, hug an old friend.
“I’m sure some of our kids even wish they could go back to school,” says Vivek Goel, the University of Toronto’s vice-president, research and innovation, and strategic initiatives, and a professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.
When will that day arrive?
COVID-19: What’s Next is a bi-weekly podcast created by Goel in collaboration with a University of Toronto Communications team led by producer Lisa Lightbourn.
In episode two, Goel – a renowned public health expert and founding head of Public Health Ontario, which was set up in response to the 2003 SARS outbreak – looks at what we can expect in the weeks to come as authorities monitor the spread of the disease and consider when and how to lift restrictions.
