勛圖惇蹋 ranks 16th globally, up one spot, in U.S. News & World Report university ranking
The University of Toronto has risen one spot to 16th globally in the latest U.S. News & World Report university ranking.
The , which are focused on research performance, placed 勛圖惇蹋 first in Canada and 16th in the world a position it shared this year with Princeton University and University College London. That continues 勛圖惇蹋s upward trajectory in the ranking from the previous year when it moved into 17th position globally, up one spot from a year earlier.
Among public universities, 勛圖惇蹋 continues to be ranked fifth in North America and seventh globally.

勛圖惇蹋 was also ranked among the top 10 universities globally in 13 subject areas: surgery (3rd); endocrinology and metabolism (4th); cardiac and cardiovascular systems (5th); clinical medicine (5th); oncology (5th); psychiatry/psychology (8th); arts and humanities (9th); gastroenterology and hepatology (9th); molecular biology and genetics (9th); public, environmental and occupational health (9th); radiology, nuclear medicine and medical imaging (9th); biology and biochemistry (10th); and social sciences and public health (10th).
In addition, 勛圖惇蹋 was ranked first in Canada in 30 of the 43 subject areas covered in the ranking.
The U.S. News & World Report ranking assessed 1,750 universities across 90 countries through the lens of research performance, as measured by indicators such as global and regional reputations, citations, scholarly publications, international collaboration and citation impact. Data was obtained from Clarivate Analytics.
The methodology used to compile the rankings was identical to last years ranking, with the exception that the most recent edition featured the addition of five new subject areas.
Two other Canadian schools joined 勛圖惇蹋 among the top 100 globally in the most recent ranking: the University of British Columbia, which ranked 35th, and McGill University, which ranked 51st.
The top five universities in the 2022 edition of the ranking were Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Oxford.
Overall, 勛圖惇蹋 continues to be the highest-ranked Canadian university and one of the worlds top-ranked public universities in the five most closely watched international rankings: U.S. News & World Reports Best Global Universities, Times Higher Educations World University Rankings, QS World University Rankings, ShanghaiRanking Consultancys Academic Ranking of World Universities, and National Taiwan University World University Rankings.
